MOSI + MOO in the CLASSROOM is a new, educational, creative dance program that meets curricular expectations for grades JK/SK and Grades 1, 2 and 3. These action songs stream right into your classroom LIVE! It is led by dance teacher Belle and features a hilarious puppet named MOSI and his singing cat MOO. Together, they explore fun, imaginary worlds through dance and song with your kids!
MOSI + MOO in the CLASSROOM was created by master dance educator and curriculum developer, Sarina Condello M.Ed (Belle), and her executive producer partner, Jody Scotchmer. Its mission is to provide teachers with the dance support they need, in the classroom and virtually, by delivering interactive, high-quality educational programming, and strong supplementary materials.
A NEW DANCE ADVENTURE IN EVERY CLASS
MOSI + MOO in the CLASSROOM programming is built around original dance adventures, with music that will ignite your students’ imaginations, build their locomotor and non-locomotor skills, and enhance their confidence in moving. Belle enthusiastically leads each adventure with easy-to-follow dance steps. Students are encouraged to express themselves and to problem solve by using their newly acquired movement motifs. MOSI + MOO imbue each session with laughter, funny banter, and positivity.

13 Dance Themes & Many Holiday Specials From Which to Choose
FARM YARD HOEDOWN
Come on a trip with MOSI + MOO to a country farm where we will dance and explore many of the barnyard activities. We will move like horses, pigs, chickens, and many more animals, too. Dancers will also learn how butter and cheese are made, where eggs come from, and how to square dance and do the jig.
DANCE WITH THE DINOSAURS
Did you know that when explorers found the first dinosaur bones, they thought they were those of a dragon? In this dance session, move in Belle’s Dance Studio along with MOSI + MOO and hunt like a Tyrannosaurus Rex, stomp like a Brontosaurus, fly like a Pterodactyl, and dance like the spikes of the Stegosaurus. We will look for big dinosaur bones just like palaeontologists! The finale is the most popular Volcano dance.
DANCE OF THE HONEY BEES
Through creative movement, drama, and chants, students explore the collaborative nature of the Honey Bee. Dance activities will include how bees communicate, travel, pollenate, and interact with their world. Students will learn the Waggle, Queen Bee and Pollination dances. Drama play will include little stories about feeding the Queen Bee, gathering nectar from the flower fields, and making honey.
BUGS, INSECTS, AND CREEPY CRAWLERS
In this dance session, students will learn the difference between bugs, insects, and creepy crawlers. An insect has six legs, most spiders have 8 legs, centipedes have at least 36 legs, and worms have no legs at all! From dancing like a firefly to hopping like a grasshopper, from scuttling like a beetle to transforming from a caterpillar into a butterfly, children will gain a deeper understanding of the life of bugs and insects. They will also explore the diverse movement potential that these mini-beasts utilize to move on the earth and fly in the sky.
EXPLORING THE DEEP BLUE SEA
Take a big breath and join us for a deep dive into the depths of the blue sea. Did you know that 70% of our entire planet is covered by water? In this dance session, little dancers will put on their scuba suits and discover extraordinary life under the waves. Dances will reflect the movements and shapes of the shark, dolphin, seahorse, crab, starfish, puffer fish, turtles, and much more. The action of the waves, rising and falling, and life on the sand will also be explored.
AFRICAN SAFARI ADVENTURE
Get your binoculars out: we are going to go on an African Safari Adventure! This dance session is chock-a-bloc full of safari and jungle dances. We will not only search for the animals but also dance with them, too. Dances will include the Monkey Swing, Elephant Stomp, Lion Pounce, and the Hippo Hop to name a few. Dancers will stretch as tall as a Giraffe, make their bodies as small as a termite, and find their balance on one leg like a pink flamingo.
MOSI’S BIRTHDAY PARTY – EXPLORING BIG EMOTIONS
It’s MOSI’s 6th birthday party! There will be dancing games, presents, and even a special cake! Dancers will participate in the party and join MOSI + MOO as they dance, sing and play games. There are many kinds of good feelings that will be expressed at this fun birthday celebration! Children will do dances that feel happy, silly, calm, relaxed, proud, and excited. The emotions of being scared, frustrated or surprised will also be explored. Belle will share ways to regulate these feelings positively and safely.
DANCING WITH OUR FORST FRIENDS
Being good stewards of the Earth is more important today than ever before. By taking part in this Forest Friends dance session, children will understand the special balance of life in the Canadian Forest. Dancers will meet and greet the many different animals that live in the wilderness. Get ready to do the Fox Trot, the Bear Bounce, Eagle Fly and Deer Leap, and much more.
THE FOUR SEASONS
Join Belle, MOSI + MOO, as they dance you through the weather patterns of Canada’s four sensational seasons. Dancers will begin their journey in spring with its budding flowers, baby birds, and bunnies. We will then move into summer with water sports, a camping adventure, and a beach holiday. Fall will bring tumbling leaves, migrating birds, and jack-o-lanterns. Our dancing time together will end with a horse ride in the snow, fun winter activities, and some hiphop with a happy snowman.
FUNNY ANIMAL YOGA
Join us on one of the most fun-filled Yoga-Dance sessions led by Belle. Many of the Yoga poses and dance movements have names that children recognize: the cat, dog, mountain, tree, and snake, to name a few. Funny animal stories will set the stage for children to learn how to breathe with control, concentrate, hold yoga poses, and balance in challenging shapes.
READ IT! DANCE IT! CRAFT IT! – THE GRUMPY MONKEY
In this integrated art, cross-curricular, and literacy session, Belle reads the class The Grumpy Monkey by Suzanne and Max Lang. She then teaches the children how to dance out the story. The session concludes by collectively doing an art project where students make a grumpy and happy monkey. Emphasis will be on a new vocabulary based on feelings that will be expressed through the dance and visual arts project.
BOATS, TRAINS, AND PLANES
This dance and drama lesson is designed to help students become more aware of all the different forms of transportation. Dancers will go through the ways that transportation has changed in the last 100 years. By land, air, or water, dancing and learning about transportation are important for children’s language development and their general knowledge about their world at large. This theme is also perfect to explore locomotor patterns, too!

Primary Teacher Workshop – Song and Dance from the Enchanted Forest
Springboarding from the theme of the Enchanted Forest, this workshop includes a variety of performance formats and will examine ways to integrate dance and drama into the primary classroom. Storytelling, tableaux, mime, dance games, and creative dance exercises, all based on the Ontario Curriculum for primary teachers, will be instructed with fun, ease and lots of joy! This workshop satisfies the physical education, music, drama and dance requirements by integrating movement education, song, story, and educational dance.
Sarina’s Dance Workshops are inspiring interactive experiences that emphasize the importance of “creativity and the spirit of play.” She delivers this message in a unifying and kinesthetic “hands-on” approach and sets the stage for a virtual, and energy-charged workshop for everyone. Sarina leaves all groups of teachers feeling empowered, uplifted, and ready to approach their classrooms with a treasure trove of creative ideas. Sarina is a clarion call to teachers who are ready to be inspired.
Who is Belle?
MOSI + MOO’s dance specialist, Sarina Condello has more than three decades of experience teaching dance and creative play to children of all ages. Qualified as a primary/ junior teacher in Ontario, she did her masters of education in curriculum development focusing on creative dance for the child, and her doctoral studies on the implications of performing arts and creative experiences for children at OISE.
She also holds degrees in Dance Education and Composition from York University, and a combined Bachelor of Education majoring in Dance and Drama from The Faculty of Education at the University of Manitoba and the University of Toronto. In addition to writing a creative dance curriculum for the Toronto District School Board, Sarina has taught creative dance and drama courses for the primary/junior teacher at University of Toronto, OISE, Seneca College, and York University.
Sarina runs special programs in dance and music in elementary schools in the Toronto area and in her own studio. Sarina is the co-founder of Childhood Now, a registered charity that provides arts-based programming to thousands of vulnerable and orphaned children in Africa and in First Nations communities across Canada. She frequently gives workshops on learning through dance and the arts to educators and caregivers in Canada and around the world.
How to Book
